As if there were not enough hype and suffering in the balance of Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight had headaches before him, in the middle of his garage for his latest Batman film: how the cup two years and a half-ton top, bulletproof Batmobile that leapt 60 feet and five below zero to 60 in Batman Begins. His solution? Ditch the spoiler-and-fin-powered Batmobile mod sports car tradition. Hell, ditch the sports car of all. After all, Christian Bale Bruce Wayne already has a Lambo inThe Dark Knight, which opens tomorrow. Enter the Bat-Pod, a motorcycle-ATV hybrid that the countries of the stunts sans CGI eye, a motorcycle built by hand, grappling hooks-while shape-shifting focus. After the collection through junkyards, a local Home Depot and surprisingly hands-on garage, took Nolan and production designer Nathan Crowley, a month in a foam and a plastic model to ride-just like the new Batman measuring cups, but with a heavy trailer seek for themselves. "But you really have a lookwhat we thought we went to Warner [Brothers] and the front wheels from the Batmobile, "Crowley says. The first time I saw the Bat-Pod mockup special effects supervisor Chris Corbould was not sure if his director actually knew anything certainly But this bike is what makes The Dark Knight at once a throwback superhero movie and a light green-screen digital Hollywood turning point: the fantasy is a reality .. and the construction of a vehicle without a team concept car...
